All applications available for download, on this site, require a Texas Instruments Graphing Calculator – either the Ti-89 (*see below), or a Ti-83 (*see below) based calculator. All Ti-84 models (*see below) are written in the same code as the Ti-83 Plus. Therefore, any application compatible with the Ti-83 Plus is also compatible with the Ti-83 Plus SE (Silver Edition), the Ti-84 Plus, and the Ti-84 Plus SE (Silver Edition).
|The Ti-89||The Ti-89 (Titanium)|
|The Ti-83 Plus||The Ti-83 Plus SE||The Ti-84 Plus||The Ti-84 Plus SE|
If you are downloading a game and have a calculator from the Ti-83 Family, you will need a “helper” program for you to do so. The two best of these helper programs are “Mirage OS” and “Ion.” They allow the games to function properly, and they even save all of your data in one location (so you don’t have to go through your entire applications list for each program). Mirage OS can be downloaded here, and Ion can be downloaded here.
If you have a Ti-89 and would like to download a game, you do not need Mirage OS nor Ion in order to run them on your calculator. In fact, because the Ti-89 is written in a different coding language than the Ti-83 family, you couldn’t really run either of them if you tried. Except maybe those of you who can port TiBasic to ASM…… But why bother? (Don’t worry if you have no idea what that means — those are just the languages of the two calculators. Porting one to another is basically translating, like from English to Spanish or vice-versa).
