I'm guessing that what you want to do is replicate the TI-83/84 "NormProbPlot" on the TI-89. This is found on the TI-83/84 series as the last of the plot modes in the statistics plots. It is used to compare a data set to a normal distribution.

No. The "asm" for the TI-83/84 machines is actually machine language for the Zilog Z-80 microprocessor which those calculators are based on. The "asm" for the TI-89 is built around the Motorola MC68000 processor which is a completely different machine/architecture. There is no good way to translate from one to the other without a complete re-write of the entire program.

It's a little hard to tell what you are asking about, but searching the TI-89 Titanium Guidebook, the only reference to "File" has to do with Applications. In this case, it sounds like you are trying to load an application file with some kind of unexpected content.

So, what sort of file are you trying to load, and where did it come from?

I put the "function" utility on the stack. Enter, for example, X^2+X-6 hit enter is the answer displayed it 2(dot)3, Not the (x-2)(x+3) format that's expected. I know it must be a setting, but I'm not sure which one.
