How do i install custom software?

Hey i just found out i have a ti-89 and have absolutely no experience in any of this. How do i go about installing custom software on it? Can i do so without any special cables and such?

Best answer
You can install custom software, but you need the mini-USB cable (cheap on Amazon). Software (APPS) are coded in assembly and cannot be typed manually on the calculator.
